irl: the dreamer’s waking life.
irl cuckoo revelation: the epiphany, the final stage of anima detachment, the conscious revelation, completion of the symbolic process.
redacted reality girl:
timelines: grief cascades across the five shared infinities with redacted reality girl. he sees the anima-caterpillar process in each. as he mourns them all, a further infinity falls from the burden of a lost love unprocessed, and anima is released purified back into his unconscious.
There are both heavenly bodies and earthly bodies, but the brightness of the heavenly is one kind and that of the earthly another. … So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown corruptible; it is raised incorruptible. It is sown dishonorable; it is raised glorious. It is sown weak; it is raised powerful. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body.
—1 Corinthians 15:40, 42-44
the cuckoo1234 and caterpillar are tracked here as they progress in the dreamer and make their way into waking life. we locate the resurrection body not in the non-transformation of the caterpillar lol but in the dreamer’s anima progression over the course of two dreams and an irl, and explore the dreamer’s grief across timelines to illustrate the cuckoo’s particular method of spirit in enacting a symbolic processing that produces revelation. after that it tails into some preatty heady theosophizing around the resurrection body itself on the widower timeline so let it marinate there’s big payoffs at the end i wouldn’t lie to you.
the first dream takes place in the realm of myth— at dusk in the wild west, at the end of a long journey to the alamo, the dreamer is captivated by a generic young girl in white watching the setting sun as she bites into a caterpillar, embers glowing in its halves. this sets the stage for a conscious revelation in the irl, and a full resurrection of the anima within him in its untethering from redacted reality girl.
the second dream a week later takes place in a familiar setting of the dreamer’s irl— he makes his journey to the fancy nyc restaurant and encounters redacted-as-anima not in the dining area but in the dirty kitchen, where she bites a caterpillar in half and flings it away, screaming as she discovers blood on her lower lip. the dreamer upon waking recognizes the recurrence and so starts the wheels turning in his consciousness toward irl cuckoo revelation.
perhaps it’s a marriage headed for divorce. perhaps they’ve been dating awhile but not talking much lately. perhaps he’s seen her around socially but now she seems to avoid him, or acts cold when he tries talking. perhaps he’s never met her at all and only knows her parasocially, and has noticed her aging out, or falling off, or boyfriend posting.
in any case, the anima is untethering from its object with the biting into the caterpillar. and as the icon of reality girl and the eidolon of her dream manifestation swim together in the heat of his waking consciousness, the dreamer approaches his revelation, and anima release, in the third occurrence in the irl.
a bird from heaven 🕊️, an agent of fate in the form of a cuckoo has been moving through him on the pneumatic wind5 all through the process, hunting down the failing bond 🐛 between dreamer and captured anima all the way to its source in the irl, between man and woman.
we can see the cuckoo’s arrival as third occurrence bringing irl revelation across the four different aforementioned timelines from marriage down to parasocial—
for the marriage approaching divorce, the second dream might be meeting his wife somewhere out on the trail where they first took hikes together, and instead of the dirty kitchen it’s somewhere at the bottom of a canyon where the river’s nearly all dried up. and his irl cuckoo revelation is seeing his niece bite a sour worm in half as a timer goes off in the kitchen. she’s spoiling her dinner, and they’ll never have a child together.
for the young couple becoming slowly estranged, his second dream is in the basement staging area of the museum where they had their first date, and after biting the caterpillar in half she spits its blood spitefully onto a canvas. his irl cuckoo revelation is seeing a young woman on the street spit out a bite of hot dog into a trash can as a clock tower sounds out the hour.
the parasocial case is more complicated because the anima object is already an abstraction, though often it becomes more. the second dream will be more elemental and may involve a framing device like a screen or interior doorway that the dreamer’s attention is directed to by a trusted irl female of lesser potential quality for anima attachment but higher attainability than the parasocial url anima object. in this framing case, you’re more likely to see a snake and bird egg or lizard and bugs6 instead of young woman and caterpillar.
in our main case where she’s changed her tune in the casual social arena of bars and events, where the second dream is the fancy nyc restaurant, the irl cuckoo revelation is the scene in american honey where star swallows the mezcal worm, coinciding with the sound of a bell in imessage meaning an incoming text from a different reality girl he sees now as subtly antithetical to redacted reality girl, who is more like star in some specific negative ways. sown dishonorable, raised glorious.
this doesn’t necessarily mean an anima transfer has occurred from one to the other, but it does mark its untethering from redacted reality girl, and the revelation allows his anima to be released revitalized, with reclaimed spiritual power, back into the pneumatic wind of his unconscious.
there is also a fifth case here where the cuckoo comes not to untether the anima but as a grim reaper. in the case of an old couple where the wife is dying7, the cuckoo comes to untether spirit from human body itself, and she is fully released into him as anima suspended at whatever stage (eve, helen, mary, sophia) and into the particular outpost of eternity8 they have together nurtured and grown within in marriage, to begin her autonomous life there in spirit. to the extent he has established their shared eternity within himself, he has an architecture for grieving. and he experiences her loss as joy to the extent there is potential for symbolic processes to move pneumatically between relations in that architecture, and set them to growing.
this is how faith in the resurrection body, especially the literal resurrection of the dead, enriches faith in the grieving, and illuminates their place not just in the kingdom of heaven but in the life of the world to come9. and we can perceive now the cuckoo recurring not just across his dreams, or timelines, but from his life on earth to the kingdom of heaven and back again, like the whirlybird10 that ascends in a flash of spirit, then descends slowly in its natural second falling11. and because proceeding across time and through eternity, also in circular oscillations (see diagram) that become enriched in an eternal point at the apex of recurring cognitive cycles and recede or proceed toward singularity and back again.
through faith in the resurrection body, and in the sacrament of marriage, the old man has opened up for himself a window to gaze into their afterlife in eternity toward a drama between earth and the kingdom of heaven that brings them both back at the second coming, which allows him to faithfully process events on earth toward a vision of the apocalypse, and further divine the arc of his secret name across lifetimes.

John 3:8
The wind[d] bloweth where it listeth, and you can hear the sound it makes, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes; so it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
2 Maccabees 7:10-11
After him the third suffered their cruel sport. He put forth his tongue at once when told to do so, and bravely stretched out his hands, as he spoke these noble words: “It was from Heaven that I received these; for the sake of his laws I disregard them; from him I hope to receive them again.”
